SYNAPSE

SYNAPSE is an undergraduate-led neuroscience club at the University of Toronto Scarborough. Since its founding in 2016, it has grown into a vibrant community hosting seminars, panels, networking events, and science communication initiatives to inspire interest and awareness in neuroscience.

The main challenge was to modernize a website that hadn’t been visually updated in nearly a decade. My role involved digging into outdated code that disrupted the visual design, adding interactive elements to improve engagement, and cleaning up broken links to restore functionality and user trust.

By directly editing and restructuring outdated HTML and Elementor components, I resolved visual inconsistencies and improved the site’s responsiveness across devices. The refreshed design introduced modern interactive elements, while fixing broken links restored seamless navigation. These changes enhanced usability, updated the site’s aesthetic after nearly a decade, and have already received positive feedback from users.
